Cirque Mechanics holds back-to-back performances

Tickets to the unique, circus-themed production 42ft — A Menagerie of Mechanical Marvels now available for purchase

As part of its Inaugural Season, The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts will offer two Cirque Mechanics 42ft — A Menagerie of Mechanical Marvels performances on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The imaginative, circus-themed production showcases a galloping mechanical metal horse and a rotating tent frame for strongmen, acrobats and aerialists and will take place in The McKnight Center Performance Hall, an 1,100-seat venue with terrific sightlines from every seat.

“The McKnight Center Performance Hall has the capability and versatility to attract world-renowned talent and performers, which is clear with these two Cirque Mechanics' performances,” said Marilynn and Carl Thoma Executive Director Mark Blakeman. “When we were considering performances for our Inaugural Season, this opportunity seemed the perfect complement to our lineup with its stand-out artistry, unique staging and innovative technology—it's truly a panoply for the senses."

As part of its tour, Cirque Mechanics will present a special performance for Stillwater Public Schools seventh and eighth graders on Nov. 22. The educational performance will highlight impactful moments of the show and remain true to the storyline. Following the performance, students will be privy to a Q & A session with the performing artists.

The name of the production, "42ft" comes from the traditional diameter of a circus ring and brings with it a unique take on the traditional big-top experience. A traveling troupe since 2004, Cirque Mechanics has established itself as a premier production company known for its unique approach to blending compelling storytelling with traditional circus acts and innovative mechanical staging. Tickets start as low as $25. For tickets to either show or more information, visit mcknightcenter.org.
