McKnight Center for the Performing Arts Resumes Yoga in the Plaza

Back by popular demand, McKnight Center offers free outdoor yoga classes

STILLWATER – (Mar. 19, 2021) The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts announced today their popular, in-person Yoga in the Plaza series begins March 22 and runs through May. The series includes six free classes on the lawn of the McKnight Center's outdoor plaza. The vinyasa-style classes are open to the public and led by certified yoga instructor Laurielle Prema.

"We look forward to restarting the Yoga in the Plaza series, especially after the success of our initial launch," said Jessica Novak, McKnight Center director of marketing. "We know it's a stressful time for everyone, and yoga on our beautiful outdoor plaza is a healthy way to release tension in both the body and mind. Laurielle is a wonderful instructor. She creates an accessible and friendly environment and her classes offer variations that can be adapted to any experience level. We look forward to welcoming previous yoga participants as well as greeting new faces.”

In addition to Prema's instruction, classes include relaxing djembe music provided by Wayne Bovenschen, Associate Professor of Percussion at Oklahoma State University. Each session takes place outdoors with social distancing practices in place. Interested individuals must register for a class and bring their e-ticket as well as a mask. Participants are encouraged to also bring a yoga mat, water, sunscreen, and a block. Classes are free, but class size is limited. Find more information about times and registration here.
