Our Response to COVID-19
How we're keeping you safeThe McKnight Center for the Performing Arts at Oklahoma State University has taken enhanced health and safety measures – for you, our other guests, our artists, and our employees. We ask that you follow all posted instructions while visiting The McKnight Center.
Any concert presented as a McKnight Center season event may require any combination of a face mask, proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID test, depending on requirements set by each visiting artist.
These requirements will change from event to event, and we will notify ticket holders of what they can expect prior to each concert.
The McKnight Center follows up to date guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC), the City of Stillwater, and Oklahoma State University (OSU). These policies may change as updates become available, and the center may choose to re-implement additional safety measures such as social distancing.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention senior citizens and patrons with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
By visiting The McKnight Center, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure of COVID-19.
The McKnight Center is independently operated by a non-profit organization.
Guest Requirements for Specific EventsThe artists of the performances listed below require the following safety protocols for attendance. Additional updates will be announced as artists determine their requirements.
The Buddy Holly Story | Sept 17-18 7:30PM
Itzhak Perlman | Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 7:30PM
Broadway Songbook with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Megan Hilty | Sunday, Oct. 10 3:00PM
PROOF OF VACCINATION
Guests must be fully vaccinated on the day of the performance. Fully vaccinated means a guest is at least 14 days after their final dose of an FDA or WHO approved COVID-19 vaccine. The official vaccination record must come directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination. Guests may display proof on a smartphone or present a physical copy.
PROOF OF A NEGATIVE COVID TEST
For guests under the age of 12 or those who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exception or a sincerely held religious belief a recent negative COVID-19 test will be accepted for entrance. The negative test must be a COVID-19 PCR test performed by a medical provider within 72 hours of the performance start time or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within six hours of the performance start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test.
Masks are required for all guests, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be worn at all times while visiting the center except when eating or drinking in designated areas. All masks must completely cover the nose and mouth and comply with the CDC guidelines for acceptable face coverings.
General Information for All Events
Face CoveringsIn response to CDC guidance, OSU and The McKnight Center expect face masks that cover the mouth and nose for anyone over the age of four (4), regardless of vaccine status, while attending indoor events, especially where social distancing is not possible.
All guests should supply their own masks, as they are not provided. A limited number of McKnight Center branded masks are available for sale at the Box Office, while supplies last.
The CDC does not consider face shields to be an effective substitute for face masks. Click HERE to review the CDC recommendations in choosing a mask.
Staff Health ScreeningAll Staff complete a health screening and have their temperature checked prior to the start of each event. Staff sanitize their hands at least once per hour.
Ticketing and Box OfficeGuests are encouraged to complete ticket orders over the phone by calling (405) 744-9999 or order online to minimize contact with Box Office staff. Box Office hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and two (2) hours prior to each showtime.
Each Box Office window will have a Plexiglas shield on the countertop in front of Box Office windows to allow for safer communication with customers. A Plexiglas divider will be stationed between the two windows to allow for a safety barrier between customers while they are conducting business.
Cleaning and SanitationWe’ve initiated enhanced frequency and thoroughness of sanitation practices in accordance with the latest industry guidelines to assure the health and safety of all patrons and staff. Before, during, and after every event our custodians will sanitize key touch points in public areas (door handles, lobby seating, stair rails, elevator buttons, counter-tops, etc.) with approved sanitation products. Between events, they will sanitize seating areas using a state-of-the-art atomizing spray mister which allows for the virucide to penetrate the cloth surfaces within the halls.
The McKnight Center has a highly efficient H/VAC system that provides for air volume turnover and filtration several times per hour. Additionally, the system will be configured to allow for “On Demand” purging of the air volume for increased filtration.
