The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts at Oklahoma State University inspires and transforms individuals’ lives through artistic excellence, shared creative experiences, and impactful learning opportunities. Performances and events are presented in a supportive environment that seeks to eliminate obstacles to attendance for all audiences.Arrival and Parking
The Hester Street entrance offers a designated passenger pick-up and drop-off lane for easy access to the east lobby. This entrance is accessible by ramp and power-assist doors.Accessible parking is available in the adjacent 4th Avenue Garage. Garage level 2 connects directly to the lobby level of The McKnight Center; level 4 connects to the mezzanine and balcony levels. Elevators are available on every level. Please note that the garage is not equipped with power-assist doors.
Accessible parking is available on every level:
- Level 1: 6 accessible spaces
- Level 2: 4 accessible spaces
- Level 3: 4 accessible spaces
- Level 4: 2 accessible spaces
Please be aware that specially-marked spaces, including accessible spaces, are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The McKnight Center does not own the 4th Avenue Garage. If you have any questions, contact OSU Department of Parking and Transportation Services at (405) 744-6525.
Accessible Seating
Accessible seating is available in the Recital Hall and Performance Hall. Please contact the Lou and Jim Morris Box Office at (405) 744-9999 to request wheelchair-accessible seating when purchasing your ticket; these seats are not available for online purchase. When placing your order, please indicate if you need a space for a wheelchair, if you require a companion seat, or if you need limited mobility seating. This will help us better accommodate your needs.
Recital Hall
The Recital Hall features four (4) accessible seats in Row M at the back of the theater and four (4) accessible seats in Row B at the front of the theater. There are also four (4) fixed seats with one movable armrest to assist limited-mobility guests. The Recital Hall is sloped and does not include any stairs.
Performance Hall
The Performance Hall features seating options as listed below. Access the seat map here.
- Front Orchestra: four (4) accessible seats in Row G and four (4) in Row P, accessible by ramp.
- Rear Gallery: eight (8) accessible seats in Row NN, accessible by chair lift from the house right entrance.
- Box Circle: two (2) accessible seats in Box 4 and two (2) in Box 20. The Box section is accessible by the elevator on the west side of the center. Boxes 1, 2, 3, 21, 22 and 23 are accessible by chair lift.
- Balcony: eight (8) accessible seats in Row BC. The Balcony is accessible by chair lift from the house right entrance.
Plaza
The Plaza is an outdoor space mainly covered in grassy turf. The Plaza is surrounded by flat and accessible paved sidewalk that provides 360 degree viewing of performances simulcast to the 32-foot LED wall. A ramp is available leading from the west lobby to the Plaza. The center does not provide seating in the Plaza; guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets.
Restrooms
Restroom facilities are located on both sides of the lobby and mezzanine levels. Each restroom has one to two accessible stalls. One family restroom is located on the house left (east) side on both the orchestra and mezzanine levels.
Service Animals
Service animals (dogs) for guests with disabilities are permitted. All other animals, including emotional support animals, are prohibited. All service animals (dogs) must always remain under the control of the handler.
Hearing Assistance
Guests who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or speech-disabled and need to contact staff in the Box Office can call the Oklahoma Relay TTY number, 711 or (800) 722-0353. When prompted by the Communication Assistant please provide the Box Office phone number: (405) 744-9999.The McKnight Center features induction loop technology for the deaf and hard of hearing. Inquire at Coat Check for assistance connecting. Devices are provided at no cost.
About the Hearing Loop
An induction or hearing loop system transmits an audio signal directly into a hearing aid via a magnetic field. This greatly reduces background noise, competing sounds, reverberation and other acoustic distortions that reduce clarity of sound.The copper wire hearing loop surrounds the area where the listening audience is located and produces a magnetic field. The magnetic field produced is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to “T” (Telecoil) setting to deliver sound directly into the ear canal, without background noise and with the full spectrum of sound frequencies needed to make it intelligible.
If your hearing aids have a T-coil or the T-coil setting, there is no need to use a receiver or headset.
