Claire Chase
Recently described by The New York Times as “the North Star of her instrument’s ever-expanding universe” the interdisciplinary flutist and educator Claire Chase presents a concert from her 24-year initiative, Density 2036. Now in its 12th year of commissioning and performing works for a new flute repertory, the project has been called "a quarter-century journey that has little precedent" by The New Yorker, and "one of the great musical undertakings of our time, a singular project by a singular artist" by The New York Times. Chase is currently the Professor of the Practice of Music at Harvard University’s Department of Music, and she will be Music Director of the 2025 Ojai Music Festival.
