Renowned violinist Joshua Bell is lauded by critics and audiences alike for his impassioned and impeccable performances. He has performed with every major orchestra in the world, recorded more than 40 albums, and now returns to The McKnight Center for the first time since 2020 for an intimate solo concert, joined on piano by a special guest artist to be announced at a later date.

Dr. Lucia Unrau hosts half-hour conversations with our distinguished guest artists before each concert in our Classical Series. These casual discussions provide insight about the evening’s program, including the music that will be performed, the soloists, and the ensembles. Preludes is the perfect way to deepen your musical understanding and enhance your enjoyment of the concert.

Preludes is held in the Recital Hall beginning one hour prior to show time. No ticket needed - Preludes is free for all to attend.

With a career spanning almost four decades, GRAMMY Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell CBE is one of the most celebrated artists of our time. He has performed with virtually every major orchestra in the world, and regularly appears as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, conductor, and as the Music Director of London’s Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

Bell has been nominated for six GRAMMY Awards, named "Instrumentalist of the Year" by Musical America, made an honorary CBE in Briatin, selected as a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum, recognized with the Avery Fisher PRize, and honored and an "Indiana Living Legend."
